Partner, Ernst & Young EMEIA Financial Services

Tara Kengla, Treasury Committee

I have been with EY for over 22 years in serving clients in the banking and capital markets industries in the UK, the  US,  the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Canada.  I have led a range of audit and advisory engagements for several major financial institutions.  My areas of focus are accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, transactions and audit transition. I built and led our finance, accounting and reporting advisory practice across Europe to over 400 professionals.

As part of the leadership team of Ernst & Young’s UK Financial Services Practice I served as the Diversity & Inclusiveness Leader driving many initiatives to increase the gender balance in the business and enhance the career opportunities for women of all levels in the firm.  Being a board member for LWF gives me a great opportunity to connect and support women in the wider financial services environment and focus on the challenges at the most senior level.

I was born in New York but for most of my professional career I have worked abroad.  I enjoy precious time away from the office either at the gym or skiing.

How has the position of women in financial services changed since your first job?

They are many more of them and they have more of their own personalities.  When I first started work all the women seemed to try to act like then men they were working with.
